Money had helped the experiment to begin in euphoria. Everybody had agreed, everybody had signed. Everybody was sure that we would led these idiots by the nose. They had offered an handsome price to watch us day and night, to spy on our eyelashes flutters, to count our chewing movements, to weigh our words, to analyse our breaths, and all of this for the benefit of mankind. We would help them, surely, but we'd do it our way. They would believe exactly what we'd want them to believe. Foolish things, absurd habits, kinky practices, improbable lives. Naively, we thought that we'd be able to drive into the ground their psychological mumbo jumbo, their silly grading systems and all these analytical grids they were so enthusiastic about. We would turn this experiment into a shrink's nightmare, and we would be rich to boot.

One month later, we were literally crawling along the walls. It was no laughing matter anymore, or the joke was on us. We were aware of them We felt them all around us. We had forgotten the time problem. We had never imagined that without a visible public, our childish pranks would wear themselves away, and wear us out by the same process. We became obsessed with these righteous Peeping Toms who were probably spending their time making detached, ironic or downright insulting comments on our most intimate attitudes. Some did not seem so affected by
