A few decades ago, the south of the 13th Arrondissement, near the Boulevard Kellermann, was a blue-collar district with many small factories... and a large number of bars ("bistrots") where the working population would get drunk after work. The Bourgon street had half a dozen bars in a hundred meters and at night-time the drunks would stagger from one bistrot to another. The 13th has become more middle-class, and its old slums have been razed or rehabilitated, but some walls are still showing cracks. Photo taken on 2003-09-21, Paris 13th France
